Magnificent Metal Monday – IMP Spotlight

“Metal Goes to the Movies” as seen in Architect Magazine

State-of-the-art, eight-screen movie theater in Elizabeth City, N.C.; Ceco Building Systems

The unique combination of energy efficiency provided by the insulated wall panels’ superior R-values and the versatile design options of various colors, orientations, and depths led to the selection of insulated metal wall panels for this new $10 million, state-of-the-art 31,820-square-foot movie complex.

To fulfill the architect’s aesthetic vision with consideration of the local energy code requirements, Revelle Builders recommended using insulated architectural metal wall panels from Ceco. A total of 24,367 square feet of the CF Architectural, Light Mesa, Santa Fe, and Striated insulated metal panels in a mix of Terracotta, Colonial Red, Almond, Zinc Grey, Medium Bronze, and Copper Metallic were used for the project.

Aside from the custom-engineered metal frame, Ceco provided the PBR single skin metal wall panels in Galvalume Plus that were used on the back of the parapet wall on the roof. For the roof, a standing seam metal roof system of Double-Lok in Galvalume Plus and the Silvercote R-32 Purlin Glide roof insulation system were selected to further improve energy efficiency.

For the first time, industry experts and leaders in insulated metal panels will come together at METALCON 2021 in Tampa, October 6-8. Sponsored by MCA’s IMP Alliance, see six major brands that produce 85% to 90% of all IMPs shipped in the US and Canada, all in one location. They will be displaying their newest products and visual illustrations of various projects and providing on-site product and technical guidance. If you are an architect, specifier, contractor, building owner, or government agency, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to meet and network with these key contacts. Look for the IMP Pavilion on the METALCON show floor.
